First, what a Day Master actually is

In BaZi — Chinese astrology, also called the Four Pillars of Destiny — your birth date and time are converted into eight characters: four pairs, each made of a Heavenly Stem and an Earthly Branch. One of those eight carries more weight than all the rest: the Heavenly Stem sitting on your day pillar.

That single character is your Day Master, and it represents you. Everything else in the chart is read in relation to it — which elements support you, which drain you, how the ten-year luck cycles interact with your nature.

Whether your Yang Metal is strong or weak within your particular chart changes the reading substantially — a Yang Metal person with heavy Fire around them lives a very different life from one surrounded by Earth. So does the timing: your ten-year luck cycles can amplify or soften the traits described above for a decade at a stretch.
